4. Products
Do pulses contain gluten?
No, our pulses don't contain gluten and are free from traces. We test every batch we produce to guarantee this. What's more, no gluten-containing ingredient ever enters our workshop, which allows us to ensure there's no cross-contamination.
Our cooked brown lentils are the first to be certified gluten-free by the Catalan Coeliac Association. This is because, at source, lentils can carry a risk of cross-contamination with gluten-containing cereals during growing, harvesting or handling. For this reason, we've specifically certified this product, guaranteeing its safety for people with coeliac disease.
As for our other pulses, they're naturally gluten-free and are also made in a workshop that is 100% gluten-free, which guarantees their safety.

Is it normal for cooked lentils and lentil soup to have a darker top layer?
Yes. This is due to a natural oxidation process, as we don't add any additives. That's why it's normal for the top layer to be slightly darker. But don't worry — you can eat them without any problem and without draining them.
Can I drink the cooking water from your pulses?
Of course! Keep in mind that the cooking water contains plenty of water-soluble nutrients, and we don't use any additives in the cooking water we use to pack our preserves — just salt (and very little of it). What's more, using the cooking water will give your dish a stronger flavour.
